Time Times And Half A Time

Revelation Chapter by Chapter (#6)
(Chapter by chapter in spirit! As I'm not sure it's ever going to follow that pattern!)

For a while now, I've been thinking of Bible prophecy as often being like a telescope, especially the Biblical phrase, "time, times and half a time". (Revelation 12:14) The telescoping being, 3.5 centuries, 3.5 years, and then 3.5 days.

Revelation 12:13,14 - "The dragon persecuted the woman" (the faith) "but she was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness.. where she is nourished for a time, times and half a time, from the face of the serpent."

I think of this as being 3.5 centuries (a modern division of time).

And Daniel's verse, 12:11 (which actually is a 3.5 plus 30) - "From the time of the turning aside of the perpetual [sacrifice - added by translators] to the giving out of the desolating abomination, [are] days a thousand, two hundred, and ninety."

I think of this 3.5 (plus 30 days) as three and one half years (plus thirty days). "From the time of the stopping of the perpetual" (in Israel) "to the giving out of the abomination that makes desolate shall be 3.5 (Hebrew) years, plus 30 (days)."

And Revelation 11:3 - "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” Coinciding with Daniel 7:25,19 - "the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time" and Revelation 13:5 - "is given authority to continue for forty-two months", and Revelation 13:1(?)

Seems to logically be 1,260 days (3.5 years).

[Why is the centuries of Revelation 12:14 written in the book after the years of Revelation 11? Because chapter twelve is an insert (a complete story and history all on its own).]

Then lastly, Revelation 11:9 - "Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves." - A literal 3.5 days.

A 'telescoping' of the numbers and prophecy.

Then today, looking up the Greek word used for "fulfilled" in Revelation 10:7 - "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be fulfilled, just as He proclaimed to His servants, the prophets" - I found this:

Word #G5055 "teléō (from 5056 /tΓ©los, "consummation, completion") – properly, to complete (consummate), fulfill, i.e. finish (qualitatively) the necessary process – with the results "rolling-over" to the next level (phase) of consummation/fulfillment. See 5056 (telos). [This root (tel-) means "reaching the end (aim)." It is well-illustrated with the old pirate's telescope, unfolding (extending out) one stage at a time.."
