REVIEW - 8:13 Then I (John) saw an eagle, and it was flying overhead and cried out with a loud voice -  “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell upon earth, because of the soundings of the three trumpets, the other three angels are about to sound!” (After the cataclysmic effects and smoke, 8:12.)

     1 - Then I saw the fifth angel blow his trumpet, and a star fell from heaven to earth, and it was given the key to the pit of the abyss. {The fall, straying, results in imperfection, which is an abyss of potential.} 2 And he opened the pit of the abyss, and from it rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace. And both the sun and the air were darkened from the smoke that came from the abyss.

     3 And then out from the smoke {of war?} came locusts {like? a modern capability?} And they had power like the power of scorpions. 4 They were told (the command was) not to harm the grass of earth, or any green plant, or any tree. But only those who do noT have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And it was granted to them, not to kill, but to torment for five months. And the torment was like the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. 6 And in those days people will go after death and won’t find [heuriskó - find, obtain, discover] it. They’ll long for dying (off), but death from them will flee. {The locusts, a plague?}

     7 The appearance {described by John around 95 CE} of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle. On their heads was something that looked like shimmering crowns (verse says “something like gold crowns”). {Reflecting light? Or something nano? Or both?}

     Their faces were like human faces, 8 their hair like a woman's hair, and their teeth like lions' teeth. 9 They had breastplates like iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots and horses rushing into battle. 10 They have tails that sting, and their power to hurt people for five months is in the tails.

     11 They have as king over them the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek is Apollyon.

    12 The first woe has passed {vs.5 says it lasts five months. Martial law? After war and during resulting smoky times?} Behold, two woes are still to come.

{I think these are descriptions of things and happenings done by man. We have his number! We are made of carbon and carbon has 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons.

     Review - verses 5 and 6, just previous - {Can it be avoided I wonder..} The angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar, and with the prayers of the ‘saints’/believers. And he threw the mixture upon the earth! And there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. {The interrupting of 7:1,3? Which verses (7:1,3) are the holding back of the winds (logically, of seal 6, Rev.6:12-17) after their first occurrence.

     But the seal is described as its total effects -  first to last - at the very beginning of the vision! This is a veil over the vision. One of three or four?

     Counting these ‘flashes’ this one is (#2).}

       6 And now the seven angels who have the seven trumpets prepared to sound.

     7 - The first angel blew his trumpet, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and it was thrown upon the earth, and a third of earth was burned up, and a third of trees, and (where it was?) all the green grass was burned up. {#3}

     8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something that looked like a great mountain on fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became as blood. 9 A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships (and trade) were destroyed. {#4}

    10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, like a falling torch. And it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. (7:17) 11 The name of the star is Wormwood {interestingly in Russian is chernobyl}. A third of the waters became bitter, and many people died from the water. {#5}

     12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was stricken, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light was darkened, and a third of the day did not give its light, and so it was also for a third of the night. {#6}

     13 Then I looked, and saw an eagle flying overhead and it cried out with a loud voice -  “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell upon earth, because of the soundings of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to sound..”

1 - Now, when the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. {A turning point, turning of a page?}

     2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets. {Same angels as the angels of the seven churches?} 3 Another angel came, and he stood at the altar. He was holding a golden censer. And then much incense was given to him. Incense, to offer with the prayers of all the saints [believers/followers] upon the gold altar that’s before the throne.

     4 And the smoke of the incense, mingled with the prayers of the saints rose up before God. {Still in the pause of 7:1,3. - Long to us - between the first seal 6 event and the next one (leaving 5 at ‘the end’/culmination? Is.24:20/Rev.10:4). Or.. after the interruption of 7:1,3 is interrupted? — The way the seals (ch 6) are described, veils what they are. And veils a lot of the vision. — This pause - 8:1 (above) I thought might be the space of time between the interruption of 7:1,3 and the Daniel 9:27 lauded by the world treaty/league/covenant, which will only last seven years after all. And will be broken in the middle against Israel. Dn.12:11-12 w/ Lk.19:41,44 and 1Cor.3:16 (and Rev.2:10 as the escalation of it?) But I forgot these next verses come after it, which seems to obviously BE that interruption of 7:1,3.}

     5 Then the angel took the censer. He filled it with fire from the altar. And he threw it on the earth!

     And there were *peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake**! 6 And now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared theirselves to blow their trumpets. [The 7th seal iS the seven trumpets.]

     {The description between * and ** being #2 of 7? #1 was the 1st seal 6 occurrence? (Rev.6:12-17; 4:10) And because the revelation vision is actually told three times, 13:13 is also the 1st seal 6 occurrence (but pinpointing an office, not yet a lawless individual who steps into an office they’re not supposed to? Chapter 6 - the seals - are the elements of the times, described as their full effects, very first to very last - and presented as a sort of swirl - especially seal 6. Their fuLL descriptions given at the BEGINNING of the vision, veils what they are, and also much of the vision.} {So pause 8:1 is part of pause 7:1,3?}

{The seals were described (at the beginning of the vision) as their entire effects, first to very last.. Summary upon earth, the gospel came forth openly victorious over powers and principalities (healings, resurrection). The response was war, which fruits follow and war was given a great sword [megas - great, exceeding, large, mighty] sword/weapon.

     Because the revelation vision is told 3 times, 13:13, carried out by an office, was also the first seal 6 event which was as a mighty (megas) wind.}

     1 - After this I [John] saw four angels standing at the four corners [north, south, east, west] of the earth. And they were holding back the four winds. That they would not blow upon [epi] the earth, or sea, or against [epi] any tree.

     2 Then, I saw another angel coming up from the east. He had the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the earth and sea, 3 saying, “Don’t harm earth or sea or trees untiL we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads!” (Mind, thoughts, psyche, clarity.)

     4 And I heard the count and number of those to seal, 144,000 from every tribe of the sons of Israel, 5 - 8 — 12,000 from each tribe - of Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin. [Mt.23:39, Ro.11:15!]

     9 After this, behold! I looked and I saw a great crowd. There were too many to count or number, made up of people from eveRy nation, and all tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb and they were clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. {First group mentioned is also part of second group mentioned? And the sealed are mentioned again during the fifth trumpet’s sounding.}

     10 And they cried out as one! In a loud voice, “Salvation/safety/well-being belongs to our God who sits on the throne! And to the Lamb!” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings and they fell before the throne and worshiped, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory! Wisdom, and thanksgiving! Honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen!”

     13 Then one of the elders said to me, “Who are these? Who have been clothed in white robes? And from where do they come?” 14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.”

     And he said, “These are those coming out of the tribulation the great and they washed the robes (of) them and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

     15 And because of this they are before the very throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple.” {“He has seated us in heavenly places” Eph.2:6.}

     “And - he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his Presence. 16 They shall henceforth not hunger nor thirst. Nor shall fall upon them the sun {the sun is a thermonuclear furnace} nor any burning-glow of heat [kauma]. 17 For the Lamb, in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them, and will lead them to living fountains [pégé - springs, fountains, wells] of water.

     And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

9 - When the “as though slain” lamb, opened the fifth seal upon the scroll (of the vision) I (John) saw {as} under the altar, souls who had been slain for the word of God and their testimony. 10 They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign LORD! Holy and true! How long before you’ll judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell upon the earth?!”

     11 They were each one given a white robe and told - to rest - a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers and sisters should be complete who were to be killed as they themselves had been. {Like the blood of Abel crying out to God? Fifth seal (element) is martyrdom, and it continues.}

     {I think it’s important to be able to see how the seals - described at the beginning of the vision - as their fuLL and entire effects - first to very last - veils what they are, and much of the vision. Which we, in turn have tried to force into a box labeled “7 years only” or “70 CE only”. Or, the seal descriptions are a blend of their first effects, and their last, full effects?}

     12 When he broke open the sixth seal, I looked, and behold there was a great earthquake! The sun became dark as sackcloth [sakkos - gauze, worn as a sign of grief]. The full🤔 moon became like blood {reflecting?}. 13 All the stars of the heavens fell to earth - LiKe - the fig tree throws out its winter fruit - when shaken, and - blown - by a strong wind.

     14 The sky departed {rolled/scrolled? “apochórizó”} like a scroll being rolled. And every mountain and island was shaken! {Isaiah 24:20/Rev.10:4! Zech.14:4 at last occurrence, Rev.10/4, yes 7 in the vision.}

     15 Then the kings of earth, the great ones, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, 16 calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us! And hide us from the face of he who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” {Even at 1st occurrence, some of us are old enough to remember the idea of  “bomb shelters” which idea was around for quite a while.

     “..The ancient of days took his seat” Dan.7:9. “All the world’s a stage” - Shakespeare.}

5 - When the Lamb (as slain) opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black horse! And its rider carried a pair of scales. 6 I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, say, “A quart of wheat for a denarius and three quarts of barley for a denarius, but don’t harm the oil and wine!” {Riches preserved for some, scarcity for the rest.}

     7 When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed. {Originally, of course, sheol - where there’s no awareness or doing, Eccles.9:10. What is partner to death? The grave. JN.5:28 - “all.. will come forth from the tombs/graves.” Hebrew sheol is translated into greek hades, “not seen” state of being gone, the word without the Greek myth.} And death and its partner/place (the grave/sheol) were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with famine, with pestilence (including manmade?) and by wild beasts of the earth. {Note: chem warfare began in WW1. Wild beasts may include rogue/violent nations? The one fourth is from its first occurrence to it’s very last? A way of describing the seals that veils the vision.}

Revelation/Apocalypse 1:1-3 — The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that need be occurring in quickness [tachos - speed, swiftness, quickness]. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John {the disciple, a “son of Zebedee” and fisherman with his brother James, also a disciple. John wrote the “Gospel of John” and we have three short letters he wrote.}

     2 And John bore witness to the message of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is the one reading or hearing the words of the prophecy, and keeping the things in it having been written for (the) time (is) near [eggus - near, close, nearby, nearer, ready]. {Having been written for the near time? Like Daniel 12:9?}

THE vision 1 - Now I {disciple/apostle John} was watching as the Lamb [Jesus] opened one of the seven seals upon the scroll, and I heard one of the four {majestic} living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 And I looked! And there, was a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came riding forth conquering, and to conquer. {This white horse may be two things? The gospel riding forth into the age (of our Lord, A.D.) “openly victorious over powers and principalities” Colossians 2:15. And, or, it may be an empire of Satan that finally sweeps the world. Patterns in prophecy do repeat? And logically, both will escalate, gather momentum toward gallop, in late days and ‘last’ hour.}

     3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” {“Seconds” - Father is veRy organized?} 4 And out came another horse. This one was fiery [pyrros] red and its rider was allowed to take peace from the earth - so that people slay one another - and he was given a long sword (Isaiah 24:20/Rev.10:4). {Obviously war. And war is given a megas - a great, large, mighty sword. Second of the four horsemen of the apocalypse is mankind’s response to the good news? Psalm 2. And the global sweeping power causes much war and the last war. As it comes into possession of the mega ‘sword’?}
