The Iron And The Bronze

Revelation Chapter by Chapter (#7)
(I better finish this study, as it's embarrassing I titled it "chapter by chapter"!)

The prophet Daniel records, in his second chapter, a dream which King Nebuchadnezzar had of a giant statue made up of different metals (and clay). When Daniel interpreted the dream, the statue we see, is one of a series of 'world' empires. The first, the head of gold, was Nebuchadnezzar. Namely, was Babylon. Then was the arms and shoulders of silver, the torso and thighs of bronze, the legs of iron, and its feet ("ten" toes) of iron and clay.

The good news is, a Rock cut out not by human hands, knocks over the statue by striking the feet of it, and the dust of the statue is blown away upon the wind. (Daniel 2:34,35) And the Rock becomes a great mountain and fills the world.

Most Bible commentators agree the Silver was Media-Persia, the Bronze was Greece, and the Iron was Rome.

Revelation 13:1 (written 95-100A.D.)

"Then I (John) stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name."

Daniel 7:7

"After this I (Daniel) saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns." (Verse 3, "..came up from the sea..")

Daniel 7:19

"Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth" (columns?) "of iron and its nails of bronze, with which it devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue."

Revelation 13:1-10 is the first beast of Revelation chapter thirteen.

Verses 13:1-18 is the second beast of Revelation chapter thirteen, nicknamed the 'little' beast (horn), whereas the first one is thought of as the 'big' beast. (A world governing, whereas the 'little' one is an individual - although! Verse 13:13 - "he performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men" - actually, here, pinpoints an office! Not an individual. Ringing any bells?? Note: this is the same as the "long sword given to the red horse and rider/seal two" and is seal 6, currently 'on hold'/paused, Rev 7:1. But don't forget! The seals are described as a blend of what they are at their very beginning, and what they are at their very end, kind of confusing the vision "for many days"! ..Which fiery wind is also the seven bowls.)

13:14 "And he (the 'little' beast/two horned seat/office) deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the (world) beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword" (expired) "and" (then) "lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath" (authority) "to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause..." Verse 5 - "and he (the 'big' beast) was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and was given authority to continue for forty-two months." (Three and one half years.)
