What A Paradox

We find ourselves between a rock and a hard place! Perhaps this has been true of life all down through the centuries. These days, we don't want Corporations to be too big and powerful, nor do we want them to be able to abuse and pollute the planet and the air we breathe. For this results in the abuse of people.

On the other hand, we have government, which we can endow with ever more and more administration and offices with ever increasing reach and power, in order to control and curb these corporations. But throughout history, government has done an incredible amount of abusing of the people.

But how clever if both ends of this paradox can make it seem as though they are battling each other, but in truth, both ends (sides) are enabling both! While at the same time, their fiery rhetoric divides people and sows deep dislike even hatred between them. And meanwhile both poles of the paradox stealthily just keep on growing.

And where in history has a nation fared for the better if their division turned so bitter, rioting turned into battles? Isn't that when beasts are able to rise to the top? Or are we to believe humanity has 'evolved' beyond such.. We can't only consider today, but also tomorrow. Where will the trends we set in motion lead?

If we don't like corporations, why don't we quit buying so much of their stuff? Buy less, live simpler lives. Buy local. Do the research. Or will it simply continue (and progress?) this shaking of the fists of people, toward one another?

God Is Very Geo-Political

Over and over in the scriptures of the Bible, God makes mention of "the nations".

"The nations will trust in Him" is prophesied and written, perhaps by every Biblical prophet.

When Jesus was born, it was prophesied "the nations have seen a great light". And it's prophesied when Jesus returns "He will judge between many nations" (it goes on to say "they will beat their swords into pruning hooks and plowshares, neither shall they learn war anymore, but each one will dwell under their own vine and fruit tree, and no one will bother them"). (Micah 4:3,4)

I get the sense after mankind's history, God will be fully vindicated, good totally triumphant. "All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD" - capitalized to refer to the Father - "and all families will rejoice before Him" - Psalm 22:27.

Checkmate

I have this very big history book, which I had my eye on for some time, but the cost was sixty dollars. Needless to say, this is just too much to pay in order to own a book. But! Much to my delight I saw it was on special sale for thirty dollars!

It's a very big book and has mostly sat on a bookshelf for sometime now. I took it out intending to begin reading it, or at least scanning through, regularly, a couple of months ago, but only finally am doing so now. So yesterday I found myself scanning the index at the end of the book and realized, if I was to just read my way through that first of all, I'd learn quite a bit just doing that, as they list many occurrences and events with their page number after each name in the index. So you really do get a lot of information after each index entry.

I noticed, as I was reading through a lot of names starting with A, down through some centuries, what weird lives some of them lived! Which of course I've heard of before, but not so much at once. Like so and so, son of a king, accused his brothers of something, then defended them against the father, then killed his brothers, then plotted to kill his father, got discovered in some espionage in order to carry it out, and was executed. I mean really? This is how you're going to spend your life? When you could have leisure and enjoyment of days without having to toil like most of the population of mankind. It was his father who had him executed of course.

And there were lots and lots of this type of thing! Married his sister.. murdered his sister.. grand father.. what ever.. slew 40,000 people of a town.. this type of thing, over and over.


I started to notice it all had one thing in common. And that is they all had one branch of government. There was one power in the land.
