Why Did They Build Babel Tower?

Why did they build Babel Tower..?

Uh oh, I’ve been watching too many Stargate episodes..

But it got me thinking.. Why did they build the tower.. to reach to the stars..? Who told them the moving stars - they didn’t know they were planets - were gods? There was Nimrod, mighty hunter.. Priesthoods were built up.. And king-priests (alliance”s?).. And kings considered to be gods..

We know the first man “from whom all nations came”, Adam, and his wife Eve, knew God (Yahweh), their Father.

“They heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day..” Genesis 3:8 …And the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

And of course they would have passed on this knowledge of God the LORD to their children. We know Abel knew Yahweh, and there were lots of other people around too, so a fair amount of time must have passed. [Back when the genetic code was wide, with no separating of the traits (strings?).. It was not dangerous to marry a sibling in those earliest days.]

Cain too, knew Yahweh, for God asked him “why are you angry?” And they had their discussion after the bad scene that occurred. (Man! Killed his brother..) Here’s a note too, he didn’t seem to be terrified of Yahweh.. But was afraid of the other people..

So God put a mark on his forehead (a prominent brow? I’ve always wondered. Or actually, isn’t it obvious?)

…”I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me.”
And the Lord said to him, “Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.” And the Lord set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him. (Gen 4:14,15)

And Cain went away Eastward.. He had offered grain to Yahweh. And was angry when it wasn’t accepted. (What didn’t happen concerning his offering? Idk). Was this part of that same spirit which wants all the blessings but not the bent knee..? (Not realizing His blueprint is the one which fulfills!) And is this the root spirit of Babel Tower? “We will reach the stars..”

Now with the theory of evolution, have we declared ourselves to be god..? Reaching the stars without bending the knee.. (Not acknowledging we are so puny..)

Is Babylon the Great just a bigger Babel Tower?

In Genesis chapter three, after the first parents ate from the forbidden tree.. (They had every tree in the garden to eat from.. But just hAd to have some from the one!) Well, right away Yahweh promised a rescue.. Having to do with “her offspring”.. A son. Look at how many ‘son of a god’ myths rose up all over the globe. One of the first worshiped was a “mother god”. I’ve wondered if these were not hazy memories of Eve, whom Adam called “the mother of all”. The faint memories taking on other personalities.. And still others later.. Like idols to be filled..

In the Book of Revelation, ten kings (toes, divisions?) will rule one hour with the (big, red) beast.. They will devour the harlot (greek word, “pornos” and “to sell”.)

Time Times And Half A Time

Revelation Chapter by Chapter (#6)
(Chapter by chapter in spirit! As I'm not sure it's ever going to follow that pattern!)

For a while now, I've been thinking of Bible prophecy as often being like a telescope, especially the Biblical phrase, "time, times and half a time". (Revelation 12:14) The telescoping being, 3.5 centuries, 3.5 years, and then 3.5 days.

Revelation 12:13,14 - "The dragon persecuted the woman" (the faith) "but she was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness.. where she is nourished for a time, times and half a time, from the face of the serpent."

I think of this as being 3.5 centuries (a modern division of time).

And Daniel's verse, 12:11 (which actually is a 3.5 plus 30) - "From the time of the turning aside of the perpetual [sacrifice - added by translators] to the giving out of the desolating abomination, [are] days a thousand, two hundred, and ninety."

I think of this 3.5 (plus 30 days) as three and one half years (plus thirty days). "From the time of the stopping of the perpetual" (in Israel) "to the giving out of the abomination that makes desolate shall be 3.5 (Hebrew) years, plus 30 (days)."

And Revelation 11:3 - "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” Coinciding with Daniel 7:25,19 - "the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time" and Revelation 13:5 - "is given authority to continue for forty-two months", and Revelation 13:1(?)

Seems to logically be 1,260 days (3.5 years).

[Why is the centuries of Revelation 12:14 written in the book after the years of Revelation 11? Because chapter twelve is an insert (a complete story and history all on its own).]

Then lastly, Revelation 11:9 - "Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves." - A literal 3.5 days.

A 'telescoping' of the numbers and prophecy.

Then today, looking up the Greek word used for "fulfilled" in Revelation 10:7 - "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be fulfilled, just as He proclaimed to His servants, the prophets" - I found this:

Word #G5055 "teléō (from 5056 /télos, "consummation, completion") – properly, to complete (consummate), fulfill, i.e. finish (qualitatively) the necessary process – with the results "rolling-over" to the next level (phase) of consummation/fulfillment. See 5056 (telos). [This root (tel-) means "reaching the end (aim)." It is well-illustrated with the old pirate's telescope, unfolding (extending out) one stage at a time.."

In The Day

Jesus said, "As it came to pass in the days of Noah, so also shall it be in the days of the Son of Man, they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying.. till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came.. As it came to pass in the days of Lot, they were eating, they were drinking, ..selling, ..planting, ..building, and on the day Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven.." - from Luke 17:26-29.

The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse

Revelation Chapter by Chapter (#5)

(but not in order)

I'm going to come right out and say it.. Parts of Revelation we can see came riding out upon the pages and stage of history. Granted, the horsemen (and the rest of the Seals) may indeed escalate at the 'end' - from a horses canter to a gallop? - but I don't think we should confine Revelation to a box titled "seven years only".

The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse

      Chapter Six: 1-8

Verse quotes are, for the most part, from - http://biblehub.com/interlinear/revelation/6-1.htm and the "Berean Literal" or "Study Bible" - http://biblehub.com/revelation/6-1.htm

1 - And I (John) watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as a voice of thunder, "Come!"

2 - And I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

  •  Cross references:
  •  Revelation 19:11 - Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war. (And conquers!)
  • Colossians 2:14-15 - Having blotted out the handwriting in the decrees against us (having erased the charges that were brought against us via the law) which was hostile to us, He has taken out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. And having stripped the principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly -- having triumphed over them. (The Victorious Gospel / the Good News rode forth conquering!)

3 - And when He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come!"

4 - And another horse went forth, bright red; and to the one sitting on it, to him was granted to take the peace from the earth, and that they will slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

  • To war, a great sword was given

5 - And when He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come!" And I looked, and behold, a black horse, and the one sitting on it having a pair of scales in his hand.

  • Much mercantilism.. scales in its hands.

6 - And I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and you should not injure the oil and the wine."

7 - And when He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come!"

8 - And I looked, and behold, a pale horse, and the one sitting on it, the name of him was Death, and Hades [note: "the place of the dead" / the grave] was following with him; and authority was given to them over the fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with plague, and by the beasts of the earth.
The grave following.. including the mass grave? From sword, famine and plague.. wild beasts/wild governings? "on a pale horse" - plague? Including chemical?
