God’s Riddles - Hiding Things In Plain Sight

~ πŸƒ ~ πŸƒ ~ πŸƒ ~ πŸƒ ~ πŸƒ ~ πŸƒ ~ πŸƒ ~

 • The Revelation vision is told  three times. Then rejoins at trumpet 7 [6:1-2 to 11:19; 12, but Mt.23:39 w/ vs.17; and 13:1 to 19:11].

 • The seal descriptions at the beginning of the vision, as their full effects, first to last, veils much.

 • Vs.13:13 pinpointed an office.

Revelation 10 8-11

  BooK of Revelation

                  a paraphrased study

8 - Then the voice that I [John] had heard from heaven spoke to me again, “Go and take the open {meant to be understood?} scroll from the hand of the angel who’s standing upon sea and land.”

     9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. And he said, “Take and eat it.” [Katesthíō - from katΓ‘ - down, and esthíō - eat all the way down.] “It will turn your stomach sour {it’s a bitter cup} “but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.” {The little scroll, prophecy, highlighted like this, shows its importance. Prophecy puts the jigsaw pieces together. The consummation, the full and mature fruit, consequences, results, tells the whole story. Straying cannot work. God iS life, and he “is perfect”. Every self first and dog eat dog cannot work. Life as we presently know it is a ‘parable’ of the decomposing ‘apple’ - and its “worm that doesn’t quit” - which is the decomposing. The fading away (slow gehenna) that doesn’t stop. Imperfection is the worm, because God iS life. But, no option to stray in Eden would mean creation as a mere ant farm.}

     10 So I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and I ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth but when I had eaten it, my stomach became sour. 11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy more about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”

AMOS

 πŸŒ΄πŸ‘

     Verse 1:1 sent me running to a list of commentaries, lol. So I read a few.. And they, plus I’ve read Amos before, have given me the impression Amos, as a prophet, was saying the world, of his day, and I figure every day, is very messed up, and sure to be calamitous, but God’s message, and paradise, will reach all the ends of Earth and then rule {dwell and hold sway} forever.

From the Prophets - Amos - not long

Israel microcosm, world, macro.

   Quick Summary — “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills!”

     “You trample on the heads of the poor.. sold the innocent for silver.. and deny justice to the oppressed!  .. Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants .. You say, ‘Do not prophesy.. and stop preaching against’.. “So I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight.” {His wrath as consequences!

     Isaiah 24:20 - the earth will shake to and fro. Rev.10:4 - when the seven thunders make their voices heard (thermonuclear lightning and thunder? The higher and faster moisture rises the bigger and greater the hail. One ‘thunder’ is in the past.}

     1:1 The words of Amos, a shepherd —the vision he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake..

     and Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edom, Ammon, Moab …and Judah..

   ..sold the innocent for silver .. you trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the ground and deny justice to the oppressed.. 2:14 The swift won’t escape, the strong won’t muster their forces, and the warrior won’t save his life. 15 The archer won’t stand his ground, the fleet-footed soldier won’t get away, and the horseman won’t save his life. 16 Even the bravest warriors will flee.. 3:6 when a trumpet sounds.. 7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. ..11 An enemy will enter your land, sap your strength and plunder your palaces ..15 the great houses will be destroyed..

    4:1 .. who oppress the poor and crush the needy.. 6 lack of bread in every city.. 11 yet you have not returned to me, declares the Lord. 12 ..prepare to meet your God. 13 He who formed the mountains, who created the wind, and who reveals his thoughts to mankind, who turns dawn to darkness, and treads upon the heights of the earth — the Lord God Almighty is his name.

5:9  With a blinding flash he destroys the stronghold, and brings the fortified city to ruin..

11 You levy a straw tax on the poor and impose a tax on their grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you won’t be living in them; though you’ve planted lush vineyards, you won’t be drinking their wine. 12 ..There are those who oppress the innocent, take bribes, and deprive the poor of justice in the courts. 13  Therefore the prudent forbear in such times, for the times are evil. 15 Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy..

    6:11 ..he will smash the great house into pieces and the small house into bits. 7:14 Amos answered Amaziah, “I was not a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but was a shepherd, and a tender of sycamore trees. 15 But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’ 16 But you say, ‘Do not prophesy.. and stop preaching against the descendants of Isaac.’

17 Therefore this is what the Lord says, ‘Israel will surely go into exile, away from their native land’..”

     8:1 What the Sovereign LORD showed me was a basket of ripe fruit. 2 “What do you see, Amos?” he said. “A basket of ripe fruit,” I answered. 6 ..buying the poor for silver, the needy for a pair of shoes and sell the chaff of the wheat.. 8 Will not the land thus tremble, and those who live in it mourn? .. 9 “In that day,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “I will make it dark at noon, darkening the earth in broad daylight. 11 “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land — not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. 12 People will stagger..

     9:11 “In that day I will raise up David’s tabernacle. I will repair its broken walls and ruins — and will rebuild it to be as it used to be.. 13 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the reaper will be overtaken by the plow, and the planter, by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills, 14 and I will bring my people Israel back from exile. {Ultimately includes us all? When the scales fall from our eyes and we believe, we are “grafted into Israel”. Though this does noT take away from the nation and ethnicity of the Abrahamic, Hebrew nation being gathered back to the land, and back to God. Israel is the prominent example? The micro version of humanity and our being strayed/imperfect/entropic. Which is preferable to ant farm, the only other option? God will accomplish total ‘herd’ immunity. Jerusalem will be (is) God’s capitol.} They will rebuild ruined cities and dwell there. They will plant vineyards and drink the wine. They will create gardens and eat the fruit of them. 15 I will plant Israel in her own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given to them..” {And humanity to its created place, but this important contrast is unavoidable, so he designed and engineered it so it will be one and done! Finished, case solidly proven age to age?}

Revelation 9 13-21

 BooK of Revelation

          a paraphrased study

(Review: out of the smoke of {widespread?} warfare came loud locust like tormenting mankind for five months. Marshall Law enforced?)

13 - When the sixth angel blew his trumpet, I (John) heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar before God {four directions?} 14 and it said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels that are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, prepared for the hour, day, month, and year, were released that they may kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of mounted troops - twice ten thousand times ten thousand is the number I heard. {This is at the 6th trumpet blast, so late. The revelation vision is told three times. Like a production with sort of(?) “meanwhiles” or, seeing it from different aspects — 6:1-2 to 11:19; ch.12, verse 17 w/ Mt.23:39; and 13:1 to 19:11.. the three rejoining at the 7th trumpet’s sounding and armageddon w/ harpazo, Mt.13:30! Imo.}

     17 And this is the appearance of the horses in the vision, and those sitting atop them having fiery breastplates {shiny, reflective?} and hyacinth (dark blue or deep purple) and brimstone/sulfur {blue, yellow, and fiery red accompanies?}. And their heads were like lion heads (big) and fire, smoke, and sulfur came out of their mouths. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire (red), smoke (deep blue?) and brimstone (yellow) coming out of their mouths. (Rev.8:13 had said, “Woe! Woe! Woe [ouai - alas! woe!] to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts (that were) about to be sounded by the other three angels!” Trumpets five, six, and seven.] 19 For the power of the horses [6th trumpet] is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents with heads, and by means of them they wound. {Make war?}

     20 The rest of mankind, who weren’t killed by these plagues, didn’t repent of the works of their hands nor of worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk. 21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their sorceries [pharmakos - poisoning, sorceries, magic {modern(?) “miracles to mislead”?} and enchantments, mesmerising] nor did they repent of their sexual immoralities and thefts. [Still not persuaded that man and universe needs God. As opposed to Jn.3:33 - “The one who has accepted his testimony has acknowledged that God is truthful, genuine, {faithful} [alΓ©thΓ©s - true, truthful, real, genuine.”]

Revelation 9 1-12

 BooK of Revelation

                a paraphrased study

REVIEW - 8:13 Then I (John) saw an eagle, and it was flying overhead and cried out with a loud voice -  “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell upon earth, because of the soundings of the three trumpets, the other three angels are about to sound!” (After the environmental effects and smoke, 8:12.)

     1 - Then I saw the fifth angel blow his trumpet, and a star fell from heaven to earth, and it was given the key to the pit of the abyss. {The fall, straying, results in imperfection, which is an abyss of potential.} 2 And he opened the pit of the abyss, and from it rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace. And both the sun and the air were darkened from the smoke that came from the abyss.

     3 And then out from the smoke {of war?} came locusts. And they had power like the power of scorpions (painful, venomous sting, but doesn’t kill, many eyes, can burrow.) 4 They were told (the command was) not to harm the grass of earth, or any green plant, or any tree. But only those who do noT have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And it was granted to them, not to kill, but to torment for five months. And the torment was like the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. 6 And in those days people will go after death and won’t find [heuriskΓ³ - find, obtain, discover] it. They’ll long for dying (off), but death from them will flee.

     7 The appearance {of something modern? described by John around 95 CE} of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle. On their heads was something that looked like shimmering crowns (verse says “something like gold crowns”). Their faces were like human faces, 8 their hair like a woman's hair, and their teeth like lions' teeth. 9 They had breastplates like iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots and horses rushing into battle. 10 They have tails that sting, and their power to hurt people for five months is in the tails. 11 They have as king over them the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek is Apollyon. (Was a high angel! Went rogue with others. Then name change?)

     12 The first woe has passed (vs.5 says it lasts five months. Martial law? After war and resulting smoky times?) Behold, two woes are still to come.

Revelation 8 7-13

BooK of Revelation

                 paraphrased study

{I think these are descriptions of things and happenings done by man. We have ‘his’ number. We are made of carbon and carbon has 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons.}

     Review - verses 5 and 6, just previous - {Can it be avoided I wonder..} The angel took the censer and filled it with fire and prayers of the ‘saints’/believers, from the altar, and threw it upon the earth! And there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. ->The interrupting of 7:1,3, which verses are the holding back of the winds (of seal 6, logically. Rev.6:12-17) after their first occurrence. {But the seal is described as its full effects, first to last.. a veil on the vision.}

       6 And now the seven angels who have the seven trumpets were prepared to sound.

     7 - The first angel blew his trumpet, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and it was thrown upon the earth, and a third of earth was burned up, and a third of trees, and (where it was?) all the green grass was burned up. {#3 thunder? Number one being 6:12-17 - but the seal is all its occurrences blended, the whole element of the age (seal) described first to last. And #2 thunder is 8:5. The higher and faster moisture rises, the greater the hail.}

     8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something that looked like a great mountain on fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became as blood. 9 A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships (trade) were destroyed. {#4? thunder/seal 6 event} {Isaiah 24:20/Rev.10:4}.

     10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, like a falling torch. And it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. (7:17) 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became bitter, and many people died from the water. (#5?)

     12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was stricken, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light was darkened, and a third of the day did not give its light, and so it was also for a third of the night. (#6?)

     13 Then I looked, and saw an eagle flying overhead and it cried out with a loud voice -  “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell upon earth, because of the soundings of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!” {Worse things yet?😳}

Revelation 8 1-6

 BooK of Revelation

                a paraphrased study

1 - Now when the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. {A turning point, turning of a page (a note from 2024’s reading/study).}

     2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets. {Same angels as the angels of the seven churches?} 3 Another angel came, and stood at the altar having a golden censer. Then much incense was given to him. Incense, to offer with the prayers of all the saints upon the gold altar that is before the throne.

     4 And the smoke of the incense, mingled with the prayers of the saints [believers/followers] rose up before God. {Still in the pause - long to us - between the first seal 6 event and the next one (leaving 5 at ‘the end’/culmination, Is.24:20/Rev.10:4).}

     5 Then the angel took the censer, and he filled it with fire from the altar and he threw it upon the earth! And there were *peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake**! 6 And now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared theirselves to blow their trumpets. [The 7th seal is the seven trumpets.]

     {**#2 of 7? #1 was the 1st of 6:12-17. Chapter 6 is the elements of the times described as their full effects, first to very last, and blended into a sort of swirl, especially seal 6. The full descriptions (first to very last) of the elements of the times, given at the BEGINNING of the vision, veils much of the vision.}
